DEPRESSION
and
SUICIDE

I watched
Insight on SBS this evening. The topic was "Minds at
Risk"
This topic was very close to my heart. Being a long time
sufferer of depression. And only recently, finally getting
on top of another 12 month battle.
I have also lost several friends and associates over the
years that have taken their own lives. People that you
would never think, in a million years, would even contemplate
suicide. People that seemed like they didn't have any
problems or issues.
The beauty of owning a website, is that you can connect

Workshop/Seminars are two fold. First of all we hope to give you
a ton of useful information, help, ideas, knowledge,
encouragement, tricks of the trade. And help you improve the
quality of your work.
As a result of this. We hope to improve the quality of the
Magazine.
As it's your work that we are promoting as well.

Workshop/Seminars.
We are planning to run more of these workshop/seminars in the
future.
The Locations are yet to be confirmed.
In the mean time....... Feel

we will consider holding a workshop/seminar in your area.
At this stage we are looking at keeping the cost the same as the
Gold Coast.
Cost $120 per person. $50 Deposit to confirm and lock in your place.
But if it's somewhere in the middle of no where. Then we may
have to raise the price per person to cover travel and expenses.
More than
40 topics are covered in the Seminar/Workshops.
And a Model will be on hand for half an hour to demonstrate Posing and Techniques.
Cold Drinks and snacks provided.

A schedule and booklet will be provided in printed form on the day.
Each topic is listed. Along with space to make notes on each topic as the day progresses.
A 100+ Page PDF will also be provided on a memory stick, to everyone that attends.
The PDF covers every topic covered on the day. This PDF contains brief and sometimes detailed coverage on each topic.

This is not technical
workshop/seminar. We are not seeing many technical issue. What we do see is problems
with: Bad posing, Things that are being overseen or missed
when posing the model, Cropping issues, Lighting issues, Lack of privacy and in some cases. respect for models,
Props and choice of background or things in the image that shouldn't be there, Over photo shopped images to the
point that the $1000 spent with the MUA was a waste of money because the entire makeup job has been photo
shopped out.
All of which are integral parts of the finished image...And some I feel are more important than the technical issues.
Its easy to get the technical side right. But if you don't know the other aspects of putting an image together. Then
all the technical knowledge in the world isn't going to improve your photography. |
