The Australian Swimsuit Edition Digital Magazine is Unique in the sense that it's aim is not to be a "Girly" Mens Magazine.
The aim of the Magazine is to Promote the many Talented, Un Seen and Un Published Photographers and Models that should get the opportunity to be seen. But Don't.
.Our Features don't focus on the Images..But the Stories behind the Models and Photographers.
It's more of an Industry Publication...Its read by Models, Photographer, Casting Agencies, Swimwear Manufacturers, Advertisers, People within the Industry..And a large percentage of the general public.

Major Changes that will affect the Australian Swimsuit Edition will come into place on the 1st January 2012
For several years we have been looking at a concept that will change the way the Australian Swimsuit Edition works.
The concept was finally presented at our Model Photography Workshops. And since then. We have been working with several photographers to gain feedback and suggestions, fine tune, and get the concept to a level that everyone is happy with. We are very close to that point.

On the 1st of January 2012. We will be opening the doors to our "New Accredited Photographers Network"
This will be launched in November. We will have a detailed pdf available. But it wont come into effect until the 1st January 2012.
Part of this concept is to create work, opportunities and exposure for Photographers in the Network.

How will this effect Photographers wanting to be published in the Australian Swimsuit Edition ?
The following is based on a 12 Month Membership Level. Renewable at a discounted rate after the first 12 Months.
Only a few of the benefits are listed below. The pdf will show all of the benefits when it's released in November.

(1) Accredited Photographers will be allowed to use the Australian Swimsuit Edition's Name, Brand and Logo's in their Marketing and Projects.

(2) Accredited Photographers will be given exclusive access to being published in the Magazine.
And every feature will in effect. Be an Advertisement for your Business
The number of Features in each issue will depend on the Membership Level.

(3) Accredited Photographers will be given 12 Months worth of Advertising in the Magazine and on at least 2 Websites.
Depending on the Membership Level.

(4) Accredited Photographers will have access to Australian Swimsuit Edition Merchandise such as Australian Swimsuit Edition
Accredited Photographer Business Cards, Caps, Lanyards and other Merchandise.
Additional Merchandise sold separately. Depending on your requirements.

(5) Accredited Photographers will be given Discounts through our other Businesses. Giving them more Products and Services to offer their Models.
Depending on the Membership Level.

(6) Accredited Photographers will be given access to other Work, Exposure and Markets. Outside the Australian Swimsuit Edition Brand.
Depending on the Membership Level.

(7) We are also considering deleting all photographers that are "NOT" Accredited Photographers. From our main facebook pages.
Giving, ONLY the Accredited Photographers, access to the Australian Facebook pages. So that they can have exclusive use of our walls to post and promote their business. As well as to tap into our extensive model data base.
For years we have known that "some" photographers only intention to send us a friend request. And be added. Is to go through our model friends. And use our walls to promote their businesses. The Photographers Network will prevent that. Giving the Accredited Photographers an exclusive advantage.

How will this effect Models wanting to be published in the Australian Swimsuit Edition ?

(1) We will only Publish Models Photographed by Australian Swimsuit Edition Accredited Photographers.

2) Models will have access to packages, exposure, products and work opportunities through our Accredited Photographers.
Depending on the Photographers Membership Level

We will continue to offer the first feature for FREE. (below)
As that is the goal of the magazine.
To Promote the many Talented, Un Seen and Un Published Photographers and Models that should get the opportunity to be seen. But Don't.
But following that first free feature. The Photographers Network will come into place.

Information for Models

How can I get Photographed or Featured on the Website or in the Digital eMagazine?

We are based in Coffs Harbour. Northern New South Wales. Australia. So unless your from that area. Or between Port Macquarie and the Gold Coast. Then there's not much of a chance of doing a shoot with us. We do travel occasionally. And the info and dates will be posted on the website. Apart from that. We do accept submissions. But you must have your Photographers Permission, or the rights to use your images for your own self promotion. We give full Photographer credits when they are provided. And we are also happy to run a Feature on your Photographer at the same time as your Feature. For more information. Please email us at: models@australian-swimsuit-edition.com

We have a few areas where we can promote you depending on your level of Modelling and if you have been published before..

(1) Cover Girl. (Booked out to December)
With the Cover Girls. The main stipulation is we prefer that "You must "not" have been published, or had a picture appear in a magazine, calendar or any other form of print publication". We are doing this as we would like to see new, unknown or undiscovered models. Get a break...And help Boost and Promote their Modelling Career. That's the main stipulation. A detailed Q&A is sent out. We use the Q&A to add content and interest to the Feature.

(2) This Months Featured Australian Swimsuit Model. (Booked out to December)
Those that don't get chosen for the "Cover Girl and Cover Girl Feature" because they have already have been Published...and are on their way with their Modelling Career, will be considered for the "Australian Swimsuit Model of the Month" Feature. A detailed Q&A is sent out. We use the Q&A to add content and interest to the Feature.

(3) Featured Model. (Several Spaces Available. And we are looking at allowing more per issue)
We have space set aside in each issue of the Australian Swimsuit Edition Digital eMagazine..for several Model Features. A detailed Q&A is sent out. We use the Q&A to add content and interest to the Feature.

(4) "Rising Stars". (Several Spaces Available. And we are looking at allowing more per issue)
This is a 2 or more page, small Feature in the "Rising Stars" section of the Digital eMagazine. This is for Up and Coming Models that are very new to the industry. Never been Published...and helps introduce them to a large market. A small Q&A is sent out. We use the Q&A to add content and interest to the Feature.

Before you email us your images:
Please do not attatch several large image files to the one email. If you dont know how to re size images and need to send large image files. Please attatch a maximum of 3 Images only per email.

How can you help my Modelling Career or give me more exposure?

For Starters. Being on the website or in the Digital eMagazine exposes you to a a larger number of people. Including Photographers, Swimsuit Manufacturers, Agents, Advertisers and People in the Industry. You also connect with our other Businesses and Websites such as East Coast Custom Calendar Productions www.customcalendars.com.au So there is the option of Calendar work there. And, we have launched our own Model Profile site called Model Zone. www.modelzone.com.au ModelZone will be similar to ozmodel, Model Mayhem or One Model Place. Not as big. But you will have your own Profile Page. And you will be connected to the entire Australian Swimsuit Edition Network and East Coast Custom Calendars. For more information. How can I, and the Models that I Shoot, get Featured on the Website or in the Digital eMagazine?

The Australian Swimsuit Edition's New Direction. Is a Launching Pad to Promote and Market Australian Swimsuit Models and Photographers. For years, Australian Magazines have had a "Boy's Club" Mentality of using a select number of Photographers for their Features. There is an enormous amount of Talented but Unseen and Un Published Photographers out there. All of whom, deserve a break or the Opportunity to have their work seen. Our aim is to break this "Boy's Club" Mentality. And give Photographers a place to not only have their work seen and be marketed. But also a place to publish, promote and expose the Models that they work with.

Its pretty easy to get involved... We can consider you as a:
- Cover Girl Photographer (Booked out to December)
- Featured Australian Photographer of the Month (Limited Spots Available - Your Name on the Cover) November Spot is taken.
- A Featured Photographer ( 2 to 5 spots available in each issue (name in the contents page) And you get as many pages for your Feature as the Cover Girl Photographer or the Featured Australian Photographer of the Month gets.

Please Note:
Cover Girl Photographer Feature - We do prefer new and up and coming Photographers for the cover. Same with the Cover Girls.. As you will read below...We are doing this as we would like to see new, unknown or undiscovered photographers and models. Get a break...And help Boost and Promote their Photography and Modelling Career. That's the main stipulation.

Featured Australian Photographer - The same with this one...New and up and coming photographers and models..But we are more flexible on this one...and it is open to pretty much everyone. But lean more towards the newbies...as they are the ones that need the help, support and exposure to get them on their feet.

Other Feature Photographer Profiles - Open to anyone.

To do a feature on you...We would need to know how long you have been in the industry as a Photographer. And see some samples of your work. Once we do.....We can see what we can do..and where to put you. Following that...We will send you a Q&A to go with your feature.
We prefer swimsuit images to go with the theme of the magazine. However, your feature can be a mix of images/topics though..to show the different aspects of your work. We will send you image requirements/numbers/sizes. And other requirements such as logos and contact info when we allocate a spot for you.

We can look at doing a main feature on you. As well as spreading your work throughout the magazine and giving you more exposure by the additional placement of some of your models.

What is the Australian Swimsuit Edition? And It's History.

The Australian Swimsuit Edition was originally launched in 1998 on a free webs server. The Site officially launched with it's own url and server in January 2000. The Original Concept was a Website that featured all, and anything to do with, Australian Swimsuit Models, Photographers, Swimwear Manufacturers, Industry Related Topics, Businesses, News and Information. With a small amount of International Content thrown in.

The Website eventually changed direction after a few years and took on the role of promoting it's creator and owner (Peter Rollans) and his Swimsuit Photography, Work and Business.

In January 2006. Peter took on the role of Full time Carer for his Grandmother, who was 93 years old and suffered from Dementia. The Carer role looked like it was going to be short term. Due to his Grandmothers health at the time. However, he continued on as her full time carer for close to 3 years. Peter tried to manage the website, continue shooting, and even produced the first Australian Swimsuit Edition Digital Magazine in December 2006 in the first year as a carer. However the physical and mental demands of being a full time carer of someone with dementia. Put a huge stain on his business and it suffered greatly. Following her passing, Peter thought that he could get back on his feet. But gradually fell into severe depression for close to 2 years. Putting even more strain on the business, to the point that he nearly walked away from the whole industry.

Finally, around September 2010. Peter found his mojo and set about re building and making up for the past 5 or so years of lost time. A huge task. But in a few short months. He managed to turn everything around. And the Australian Swimsuit Edition Website, Magazine and associated websites and businesses have never looked so good. Or been in such a great position. To take it all to the next level.

Its been a long road.. Peter has been very up front and open about it all....Even though he has been in the industry and shooting for 20 years. The website has been on line for 10 years. And the magazine started and stopped. Then kicked off again this year. He has continued to bring out an issue every month since then. There is still a 5 year gap. 3 years as a carer and the past few years fighting depression. So that 5 year gap and the reason for why he dropped of the face of the planet and had to rebuild...Really has to be explained. And sometimes honesty is the best policy.

The Australian Swimsuit Edition's Goal. Is to Promote the many Talented, Un Seen and Un Published Photographers and Models that should get the opportunity to be seen. But Don't.. It will also contain Advertising, News and Info. And the website will be used to preview the Contents of each Month's Australian Swimsuit Edition Digital Magazine.

The Australian Swimsuit Edition Digital eMagazine

We are still NEW to the Magazine Industry, Trying Something Different, Still Learning….But, WE ARE HAVING A GO!
The first Australian Swimsuit Edition Digital Magazine was produced and released in December 2006. A lot has happened since then. And we have experienced a lot of up’s and down’s over the years. To date. We have Produced 4 Issues.

NEW to the Magazine Industry
In a sense. The magazine is still NEW. However the Australian Swimsuit Edition Website has been on line since January 2000 and has been referred to over the years as an on line magazine. And has always retained top Google rankings with several Swimwear and Swimsuit related search words.

We where also a little ahead of our time with the first Digital eMagazine. With the general public, not quite understanding the concept.
However. Thanks to Apple and the huge media coverage of their iPad. And more recently. More and more companies coming out with their own version of the iPad. People are finally coming to terms and understanding the concept of reading Magazines, News Papers and Books on a Computer Screen.

DIFFERENT
We are a true magazine, with traditional layout, turning pages, and great editorial and pictorial content. But...It’s a Digital eMagazine.
You can download the magazine onto your computer, and can view the magazine at your leisure. The big difference over a traditional style print magazine is… You can enlarge and print photos from the magazine, view movies embedded in the magazine, and visit websites direct from active links within the magazine. So even though you don't actually get to touch, feel and turn the pages. It's more fun, more interactive and can do a whole lot more than a traditional print magazine. Best of all...it's green. As no tree's where cut down to produce it.

STILL LEARNING
Yes..We are still learning. As the producer and publisher of the magazine. I really shouldn't quit my day job. As I have spent the last 18 years as a swimsuit photographer. So… Putting together a magazine is a huge learning curve. From sourcing and securing content, Getting it all together, laying out the pages to marketing and selling the magazine… I am still finding my way. And learning as I go.

WE ARE HAVING A GO!
As mentioned above. The first Australian Swimsuit Edition Digital Magazine was produced and released in December 2006 and a lot has happened since then. And that’s just part of it…But HEY! Here we are….. still going strong after 10 years on line, and 18 years in the Industry! And still having a go.

What is in each Issue of the Australian Swimsuit Edition Digital eMagazine?
Each Issue we Feature a Cover Girl, Featured Australian and International Photographers, Featured Swimsuit Model, Featured Male Model, Entertainment and a whole lot more. In a world of Publications that are dominated by models having to appear topless or nude.

The Australian Swimsuit Edition Prides itself on sticking true to it's name and swimsuit theme. With the most daring images used on occasion, being implied topless. And once in a blue moon...Being Implied Nude. (lol..I can feel my ears burning as the small majority of rumour mongers and haters from my home town. "Usually generated by my competitors and fellow photographers"...Start up..because I used the "N" word. Nude...lol..For shame)...Whatever!
